Hi - I'm trying to modify a batch file that works in Windows XP to be used on a Windows 7 machine. It zips a file from a certain location and moves it to a backup folder. One of the required lines of code in this file is the exact location on the machine of the zip.exe file. However, I cannot find zip.exe on the machine. Where is zip.exe located on a Windows 7 machine OR is there some other .exe file that performs the zipping and if so, what is it called/where is it located?

There is no zi[p.exe in Windows 7 and as far as I know there has never been a zip.exe in any vgersion of Windows, including XP. If you have a zip.exe file on your XP system, then someone had to put the file there. Yes, the batch file uses zip.exe for compressing the file that's being backed up. So, if there is no such thing as zip.exe in Windows 7, then how can I tell what the system is using when I manually zip a file? For example, when I right click on say an Excel file Windows 7, then go "Send To", then click "Compressed (zipped) folder" it must use something to perform that task...what does it use?
