Hi rustylargo,- What happens when you try to start the firewall? Do you get any error message or error code? If yes, specify the same.- What are the steps that you tried, which is provided by Ramesh?- Were you able to access the Firewall without any issues in Windows XP Service Pack (SP) 2? Method 1: As a first try, follow the methods listed in this article:Troubleshooting Windows Firewall settings in Windows XP Service Pack 2 for advanced usersMethod 2: You may also follow this article.Certain Administrative Templates from the Windows XP Security Guide may prevent you from starting the Windows Firewall service in Windows XP Service Pack 2Note: The steps listed in the articles given here are applicable to Windows XP Service Pack 3 also.Additional reference on:About Internet Connection Sharing and Internet Connection FirewallRegards,Divya R – Microsoft Support.Visit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.
