You might want to start by checking the firewall settings on your Vista machine, after taking a look at my computer blog on how I successfully resolved theXP <> Vista networking issue at http://www.svabhinava.org/Dia-Gnosis/SuntharVisuvalingam/ComputerBlogs/VistaXP-frame.php http://forums.microsoft.com/technet/ShowPost.aspx?postid=1683125&siteid=17 Sunthar PS. Were you initially able to access (read / write) the shared drives, or just see them without being able to do anything else (not the same thing)?

See the questions that I posed just now to someone else having a similat connectivity problem with the wireless router: http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1718759&SiteID=17 As for the detailed instructions referred to in my earlier post, they are intended to integrate the new Vista machine into a preexisting XP (home) network. This is not the same thing as Internet connectivity through a (wireless) router. For example, our new Vista machine was able to immediately detect the wireless gateway, autoconfigureand connect to the Internet. However, it was not part of the same network yet (let alone access for file sharing, etc.). Sunthar
