Hi,· Since when are you facing this issue?· Do you remember making any changes to the system?· What is the exact error message that you encounter when you try to connect to the Wireless network?· What do you mean by ‘my desktop is preventing my laptop (wireless) from connecting to the internet’, is your Desktop able to connect to the Wireless Network without any issues?· Have you updated the drivers for the network adapter on the laptop from the manufacturer’s website? I think my desktop is preventing my laptop (wireless) from connecting to the internetUnless you are using Internet Connection Sharing with a wireless adapter in your desktop (a very unusual configuration), your desktop shouldn't have anything to do with how (or if) your laptop can connect wirelessly to the Internet.Typically, "limited or no connectivity" for a wireless connection is caused by misconfigured security settings.A. Are you attempting to connect to your own wireless network or to one that's owned by someone else?B. If you're attempting to connect to your own wireless network, what is the make and model of your wireless router?C. What is the make and model of your laptop?D. What version of Windows do you have, and what service pack?E. Have you ever been able to connect wirelessly from this laptop? If so, what happened just before you stopped being able to connect?F. Please provide the following diagnostic information IN ADDITION to answering the questions above:1. Click Start, then Run, then type the three letters cmd into the Run box and click OK.2. Type this command and press Enter: ipconfig /all > "%UserProfile%\Desktop\ip.txt" {Enter}3. Open the file IP.txt on your desktop4. Copy and paste the text into your response.
