wireless asking for domain login
Hi,I have been encountering an issue with Windows Vista trying to connect to a wireless network on a workgroup and asking for a username, password, and domain. Has anyone encountered this, and have a solution/cause? We have been doing a manual connection setup, but that does not seem toresolve the issue every time.ThanksMike

Hi,It sounds like the access point is trying to authenticate the connection to a RADIUS server. What is your access point make and model and are you encountering this only on Vista? Victor Constantinescu - MVP Security, MCTS

I don't think any of the people we encountered are running a server. Most have Netgear routers or gateways. Our support says to make a connection manually and reboot, but that does not resolve the issue in most cases. I have checked to see if they are in a domain or workgroup, but they seem to always be part of a workgroup. Thanks, Mike

Yes, it is only Vista, and has seemed to have popped up in the last 3-4 weeks. I think it may have something to do with some update, but that is only a theory. Mike

I'm having the same problem but only on one computer. I have 4 that are running Vista. Sunday, the computer wouldn't boot. I disconnected and reconnected the hard drive and it booted fine. The computer connected to the wireless network fine. I turned it off for the night. The next day, it booted fine but wouldn't connect to the wireless network and started asking for username, password and domain logon. Oh, when I disconnected the hard drive, I took another hard drive from an identical desktop, connected it to the computer that wasn't booting and it booted fine. Then I put the original hard drive back in and that's when it booted. I have the linksys 120N router and linksys usb n card for the desktop. I manually deleted and entered the network info 10 times. No luck. Any suggestions?
