heyi've got the same intel wireless card, my laptop is a hp dv9000 series with vista home premium.it had been working fine since september 2007, but i've been getting disconnexions all the time for a few weeks now.exactly what you're going through : goes to local access only and comes back to local and internet in few seconds (or minutes).i share my connection with a desktop pc which has winXP, and i download big files on that one from time to time.i just installed SP1 yesterday, which DIDNT solve the problem at all.my last deconnection was 10 minutes ago, and right now everything seems fine.this could be because : - i deleted the old wireless driver and re-installed the latest i could get directly from HP, and after a few restarts, the problem is fixed for now (even though i still don't have a clue what caused it)- i stopped the download on my other PC (i don't think this is it)so i'm sorry buddy but the only things i can think of are : - delete the wireless card driver and re-install the latest driver you can find on the dell site.- i read on other threads that this could be caused by surrounding devices like portables or microwave ovens that use a 2.4gHz frequency...good luck!Bubbacoldmeil@hotmail.com

Hi, Please try Zegas suggestion and reinstall the driver of wireless network card. I found the latest version of the driver from Intel official website: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=N&Inst=Yes&ProductID=2753&DwnldID=15798&strOSs=All&OSFullName=All Operating Systems&lang=eng Please also note: For device shipped with the computer, Intel recommends that you obtain and use the software provided via your laptop manufacturer. Hope it helps! Important Note: This response contains a reference to a third party World Wide Web site. Microsoft is providing this information as a convenience to you.
