Hi oscarjaime, I suspect this issue is caused by IP address. Do you use dynamic IP address? If so, could you please collect the following information for troubleshooting? Please run IPCONFIG /ALL on a computer when using wire. Please post the result on the forum. Then, please change the computer to use wireless, and run IPCONFIG /ALL. Post the result on the forum. Once I get the information, I will take a further research on it. Thanks.

Hi, Thank you for your posting. After checking the IPCONFIG result, no incorrect IP address setting were found. Given the current stage, could you please confirm the following point? Can you ping other computer from the wireless computer? Please one time use computer name and one time use IP address. Then, please post the result on the forum. Thanks.

Hi, Thank you for keeping post. After reviewing your previous post, I think we found the problem cause---- the current computer cannot resolve other computer name correctly. I double checked your first reply, and noticed when you are using wire, the DHCP status is disabled, but it is enabled when you are using wireless. Given the situation, could you please disable DHCP on wireless? Then, please try to test the issue again. If the issue still persists, I suggest enabling Netmon on both machines to capture the network packets for further research: 1) Download NetMon3.1 from the following website and install it on both machines:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=18b1d59d-f4d8-4213-8d17-2f6dde7d7aac&DisplayLang=en2) Log onto the machines, right-click the Netmon icon and select Run as Administrator to launch NetMon3.1.3) In the Microsoft Network Monitor 3.1 window, click Create a new capture tab 4) In the new tab, select all the Network Adapters in the Select Networks window.5) After that, press F10 to start NetMon.Note: Please start NetMon on both machines. 6) On both computers, please ping each other by using computer name. 7) Go back to the NetMon window and press F11 to stop the NetMon. 8) Press Ctrl+S to save the Netmon file and upload them to the following space: https://sftus.one.microsoft.com/choosetransfer.aspx?key=40582566-9c77-44fe-8414-75bf18ca3a3b Password: [oxfNa5{id In addition, please understand that analyze/troubleshoot this kind of issue may be time consuming. If it is urgent, Id like to recommend that you contact Microsoft Customer Support Service for instant assistance. To obtain the phone numbers for specific technology request please take a look at the website listed below:http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;PHONENUMBERS Thank you for your cooperation. Hi oscarjaime, As I indicated on my 3rd reply, the computer cannot resolve other computer name correctly. Many factors can cause the problem, given the situation, we need enable Netmon on both machines to capture the network packets for further research. Thank you for your understanding. Once I receive your logs, I will take a further research on it. Thanks.

Hi, I have received the uuccimi file. Did you get the file from computer uuccimi? I am afraid we need two files on both computer to troubleshoot the problem. For your convenience, I have re-posted the steps. =========================== I suggest enabling Netmon on both machines to capture the network packets for further research: 2) Log onto the machines, right-click the Netmon icon and select Run as Administrator to launch NetMon3.2.3) In the Microsoft Network Monitor 3.2 window, click Create a new capture tab 4) In the new tab, select all the Network Adapters in the Select Networks window.5) After that, press F10 to start NetMon.Note: Please start NetMon on both machines. 6) On both computers, please ping each other by using computer name. 7) Go back to the NetMon window and press F11 to stop the NetMon. 8) Press Ctrl+S to save the Netmon file and upload them to the following space: https://sftus.one.microsoft.com/choosetransfer.aspx?key=40582566-9c77-44fe-8414-75bf18ca3a3b Password: [oxfNa5{id Thank you for your understanding.

Hi, I have received the latest logs. Thank you for your cooperation. After checking the rolcar.cap, which from wireless pc, I found only Fibre Channel Protocol (FCP) was captured. Its strange. Do you have network administrator? If so, could you please let them check Protocols on your computer? In addition, I suggest you update your router firmware if possible. If the issue still persist, could you please capture package again from rolcar and send it to me? Thanks.

Hi Robisnon, I'm the Network Administrator: Protocols look OK, you can tell me what other part of the protocol to check. No other update for my firmware - Netgear FVS328. Capture Package uploaded! Hi, Thank you for your update. After double checking the latest file, I have the following information with you. 1.Actually, there are two problems: Browsing issue in workgroup environment. Name resolution issue. 2.The browsing behavior in Workgroup is different from that in a domain environment. For workgroup environment, by default, it is expected that we can only see a list of the computers in the same subnet and workgroup. 3.In this issue, we suspect that the wired and wireless connections are in different physical subnets. As a result, the computers can only see a list of the computers that are connected with the same connection (wired/wireless). 4.However, this issue can be ignored. Even if we cannot see the computer in the network list, we still can access that computer if it is reachable. However, you can build a WINS server in network environment and point all computers to use it. Additional information about browsing behavior. ========================================= In Windows network environment, there is a legacy service called "browser service" which is responsible for maintaining a "browser list" which is a list of computers in the network/domain. This is designed for performance purposes: every system does not need to hold a computer list for itself. Instead, the Master Browsers in the network/domain collect the computer list for the whole network, and provide the list to other systems. Therefore we can see the computer list in "Network" because the system can get the list from the master browser of that network/domain. Actually, as the "browser service" is a legacy service, if you do not need to browse the whole network computers in "Network", we can ignore safely this event. For more information regarding browser service, please refer to: TCP/IP Fundamentals for Microsoft Windows (See "Appendix C Computer Browser Service", Page 518) http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=c76296fd-61c9-4079-a0bb-582bca4a846f&displaylang=en More Reference: 188305 Troubleshooting the Microsoft Computer Browser Service http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;188305 Hope it helps.
