winload.exe is corrupt or missing
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium. Recently I downloaded some new software that came with some equipment. After that my computer started to act up and freeze oddly. When I cam home and started it up, my windows had crashed and it gave me the error code status: 0xc000000e File: \Windows\system32\winload.exe I have tried running the windows 7 repair disc but it will not run it, it will boot past it and give me a screen with my mouse in super low res with a black screen. Nothing hapens. I've tried practically everything I can think of. Out of ideas and need help.

Try repeatedly pressing F8 when you first turn on the computer, this should give you a boot menu where you can choose to boot to a CD-ROM drive. You can also change the boot priority in BIOS (usually by repeatedly pressing DEL or F2 or F12 immediately after pressing the power button to turn it on) to boot to a CD-ROM drive before a Hard Disk/Drive

Already tried that, and just for better analysis let me explain exactly everything i've tried to what happens. I have done multiple things like putting a bootable win 7 to my USB and DVD. Have tried to load both of them switching the order in BIOS multiple times. On both USB and DVD boots it will usually say click any button to run dvd, so I click, then there is that "windows is loading files..." followed by the white progress bar on the bottom, but than soon after it is done, it goes to Starting Windows, and stays there(sometimes it goes to a black screen with my mouse in extremely low res) . Nothing changes. Have left it by itself for hours and nothing happens. I can't even use the repair function let alone reinstall windows. But oddly enough I have the software Spotmau, and it runs when I boot it up, but none of my Windows discs do. I can't put words to why this happens. Need a lot of help.

Try downloading Windows Memory Diagnostic at: http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp from another PC and let it burn a boot cd. Boot off of it and run the memory test. Jerry

thanks for the link but it seems very old and wants to write the diagnostic to a floppy disc, which i don't have, or am I misinterpreting this?

thanks for the link but it seems very old and wants to write the diagnostic to a floppy disc, which i don't have, or am I misinterpreting this? @allcaps, pressing f8 will bring you advanced boot option. its asks you whether you want to boot to safemode, vga mode, lkgc etc. @Dbeezy, This is a hw troubleshooting which may not be within the scope of the forum. To check how to boot into your optical drive you need to go to your system setup , or the CMOS Setup check from internet resources how to go to that based from your motherboard. Usually you'll need to press the del key right after you press the power button. Once you're in system setup i'm sure you can take it from there. http://www.cesabarre.com/

There is an option to: "Or, click Save CD Image to Disk if you want to create a CD-ROM that you can use to start your computer." Jerry

There is an option to: "Or, click Save CD Image to Disk if you want to create a CD-ROM that you can use to start your computer." Jerry Ah, thanks. Took me a while to get it into iso form. Yeah, the diagnostic has been running like crazy. Hopefully it will tell me what the ____ is going on. Also, I think I may just replace my hard drive, upgrade to a terabyte, maybe 2. But I would still like to know if there is a fix. I have quite a lot of important things on my hard drive.

Usually you just need to replace the copy of winload.exe from the cd to that location. But there are some cases that it won't work. This issue has been troubling people since vista Here is a link that you may find helpful http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/itprovistasetup/thread/c99dc573-6842-4e28-8ec0-a63c61495308/ its kinda long though...
