winkey stuck on windows 7
I use Toshiba a200-1cr which came with vista but I made a clean windows 7 installation. It was very challenging to acquire the missing drivers but i managed it. the only problem is that winkey always pressed by the system therefore activating shortcuts so I have no way of using the keyboard since many letters associated with winkey I doupt having worm or virus since I made scanning with uptodate AVG I tried to create dword nowinkey and set it to one in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer but still no result , i couldn't find the same path in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE therefore i had no way to create similar value I poped up the winkey and it is physically clean and normal Thanks in advance Rami

Hi Rami, How did you install your drivers for your machine?Have you tried to install the Chipset driver and Hotkey Utility for your laptop? First, you can try the Vista driver in the compatible mode, you just need Right-click the exe. file and choose Properties, change to the Compatibility tab, and check the "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and choose "Windows Vista", then check the box before “Run this program as an Administrator” below, and click OK to save the settings. After that, follow the instruction to install the driver, and test again. In addition, you can try the following suggestions:1. Boot your machine in safe mode to test if the Windkey works fine now. 1. Open the Local Group Policy Editor.2. In the left pane, click on to expand User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Windows Components, and Windows Explorer. 3. In the right pane, right click on Turn off Windows + X hotkeys and click on Edit. 4. Select (dot) Enabled to disable Windows Key Hotkeys .5. Click on OK. 6. Log off and log on, or restart the computer to apply.I hope this can help you.John
