yes this is fake. If you are on expired version of Windows I would backup my stuff, and install with a real version.Mark Morowczynski|MCT| MCSE 2003:Messaging, Security|MCITP:ES, SA,EA|MCTS:Windows Mobile Admin|Security+|http://almostdailytech.com

I would also contact my bank and cancel this card and have them send you another. If you entered anything into this, regardless of what information you got in return, it is likely someone now has this information and is going to use it for malicious purposes.Someone can add a link which looks like http://www.microsoft.com yet it sends you and your information to http://www.would_be_hacker.net

Thank you for your question, first of all I want to know what operating system are you running? is it windows 7?Secondly, as you described I believed that you have infected by Spyware Win32/PrivacyCenter.I want you to go to the following website:https://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/Threat/Encyclopedia/Entry.aspx?Name=Win32%2fPrivacyCenterIt described about this risk. If you see the following symbols is what you have in your PC then you are infected and follow these steps to remove it.1)press Windows key( a key in your keyboard that have Windows logo) then press R . Winkey+R then run will appearor go to start menu and click run then inside the box you type mrt .Then something called Windows Malicious Removal Tools will come up, then do full scan and see whether it will be remove or not.If Full scan don't work try Quick scan.2)if following step did not work then go to this website: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=AD724AE0-E72D-4F54-9AB3-75B8EB148356&displaylang=enand download it and do Full and Quick scan.3)another way is to go following website: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htmAnd do Quick and Full scan and see whether you could remove th Virus or not.I also suggest that you use updated Antivirus to prevent these kind of problem , Microsoft came with free Anti-Virus called Security Essentials , this is website go and download it if you want or use any other Anti-Virus: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/If you have any problem or difficulty please let me know. Some of Virus might block following URL then if that happend we should do a deeper troubleshoot.
