After I start my XP home edition machine, I can connect to all internet sites. After maybe 5 minutes I can only connect to the https sites. Trying to connect to a http site will give the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error. If the VPN software was not removed properly, the symptoms may mimic those of a malware removal. If you have the VPN install program, try removing the VPN software and reinstalling.
