I'm not sure what you're asking for... Just rebooting in general, or those 'You installed something important, now reboot'-prompts? Where installing new things is concerned, it sometimes alters files read only on boot-up - and I suppose the boot-up/log-in procedure is so far is made to read all those files/services before you get to log-in. From what I can interpret, you want a sort of intermediary stage - [press power-button]-[insert stage here] -[read stuff and load a bunch of drivers and services]-[real log in]-[Desktop running!] Correct?

The different operating systems have completely different configurations, such as drivers, settings, etc. The computer must be reinitialized to switch between the operating systems. Thank You for using Windows 7 Ronnie Vernon MVP
