windows vista home basic sp2 security
Hello, I installed Vista SP2 today on top of Home Basic. Every time I boot up he Secutrity Center reports that my anti virus is not running (Quick Heal total Security 10 ..paid version). I tried updating as well as running a scan. The same thing keeps happening. I am out of ideas. Has this happened to anyone else or maybe even someone can help me? Thanks for your time.

Hi pravinkumar i would like you to ascertain that your antivirus is working fine and also see if the antivirus service startsup on boot...if the answer is yes then go to the security center and then under the "malware protection" look for "virus protection" and under that look for a link which reads "show me available options"...click on it and then select the option which reads "do not monitor my anti-virus program status" and then reboot....that should work....BUT BEFORE DOING THAT PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU ANTI-VIRUS IS RUNNING FINE AND YOU HAVE REAL-TIME PROTECTION ENABLED IF YOUR ANTI-VIRUS SERVICE OFFERS ONE.......if you any more queries please feel free to post it in here...Regards, KOWSHAL H.M. a.k.a W@R10CK

Yes, we can turn off the notification in Control Panel if we make sure antivirus program is working properly. Also, certain latest versions of antivirus programs may not be recognized by Windows Vista Security Center. We may need to contact with software vendor to confirm this.Sean Zhu - MSFT
