I think im having the same problem with my refurb dell 17, as i am a computer noob would anyone care to explain how too delete the registry in terms i could understand? By " same problem " are you referring to a refurb Dell that had Group Policy formerly applied to it and now it can not reach Windows Update servers which results in the 8007EE2 error code ? If so, all Group Policy settings need to be remove from this registry subkey AFTER you've first backed it up Back up the registry Click the Start orb > In the Search programs and files field type in regedit Under Programs, right click regedit.exe and choose 'Run as administrator'. Agree to the UAC prompt. Expand ( click the arrow next to ) Computer. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Expand Software Expand Microsoft Expand Windows Expand Current Version Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies There should be no WUSA or WindowsUpdate Names under Policies for a computer that updates directly from Microsoft's update servers. You can delete those Names or you can delete their Value Data in the right hand frame, if they are listed. Either method will work. You will need to restart the system after removing Group Policy settings from the above subkey. The Default ( the Names that exist when Windows 7 is first installed ) Names under Policies should only be Attachments, NonEnum, Ratings, and System . Windows Update settings on a system that updates directly from MS' update servers derive their settings from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate These settings are available when one opens Windows Update in Control Panel and then clicks the Change settings link in the left frame.MowGreen Windows Expert IT Pro - Consumer Security *-343-* FDNY NEVER FORGOTTEN
