windows installer keeps flicking up and can't cancel
I have uninstalled some old programs and Windows Installer dialog box keeps flicking up even when no program running. Can’t cancel and can’t identify program causing. Nothing shows in Task Manager.1 person needs an answerI do too

Method 1: As a first step, update to the latest version of Windows Installer and check if that helps you in fixing this issue. Here's a link to download the installer package.Windows Installer 4.5 Redistributable Note: This package is supported by Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Windows XP Service Pack 3 versions of Operating systemMethod 2: Boot into Safe Mode and check if you get the pop-up message there also. If not, place your system in Clean Boot state to identify the application causing this issue.Putting your system in clean boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue. If yes, you may have to contact the program manufacturer for any updates or uninstall and re-install the program.
