windows installer has stopped working
this is on a new build freshly installed windows 7 professional 64 bit. everytime i download and save a program and then try to run it, i recieve a message similar to this one for example:

what is even more frustrating is that if i download the same program from another computer on my network, paste it to my new build i am having this problem with, that program then works just fine... please help me fix this issue
EDIT: When i try to run a program instead of saving it and running it later, i get the folloeing message... " windows has found a problem with this program" it also says unverified publisher and the window just closes

thanks for the reply! Ok i tried them both. Nothing came up with the AV/Spyware scan and this issue has been happening ever since i installed win 7 64 bit on my machine... actually i wiped the drive AND reinstalled 3 times all clean installs and the problem
still persists. That being said, a system restore will not help as there is no earlier working point to restore to.
I booted from the win install disk and tried to repair windows but it also did not pick up any issues...
This is driving me crazy..... anyone else have any advice?

Hi,
After Checking your issue, I suspect the software Which you want to install is not compatible with Windows 7.
Please kindly pay attention to antivirus and other background programs.
While, make sure the Itunes which you download can run in Windows 7.
Please download at
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Meantime, You may kindly check whether the software’s MD5 value is correct.
