windows disconnects LAN-connection
After many hours windows 7 disconnects from LAN. You can reach the SBS 2008 Server and had to reboot the computer to work again. If we reboot after 4 hours working the problem did not appear. In Windows 7 you see nothing that the LAN has a problem (in no protocol and not in LAN-Connection) This happens on two computers in two differnet LAN´s!

We'd need a lot more information about the LAN's in question. What kind of network? Wired or wireless? Other clients on the same LAN don't have the problem? Do you have the client machines set to turn off the Ethernet connection in power savings mode? -B- http://www.officeforlawyers.com Author: The Lawyer's Guide to Microsoft Outlook

Hi, Please let us know above questions. Meanwhile, the disconnect issue usually can be caused by incompatible NIC driver, third party programs conflict or incorrect network settings. I suggest you refer to the following steps to troubleshoot the issue. 1. Upgrade the NIC driver and temporarily turn off firewall or antivirus program for a test. 2. Disable Saving Power function on the network adapter in Device Manager. a. Click Start, right click Computer and choose Properties. b. Click Device Manager. c. Navigate to the NIC card, right click it and choose Properties. d. Choose Power Management tab. e. Please uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. f. Restart the computer and test this issue again. 3. Manually assign a static IP address or DNS address on the problematic machine for a test. Thanks, Novak
