This is the message I get when I try to run IE8 on this new windows 7 beta install. On a dual boot, Windows XP sees the pci card fine. Its a D-link dfe530 Tx+. drivers won't install. Get a "fail" message. Do I have to buy a new networking card? This one is wired by the way. Also, 7 doesn'[t like the drivers for my ATI 3850 AGP card. They shut down during their install.

Can you log on your Windows Live Messenger? You may need to download the latest driver for Windows Vista from the computer manufacturer. If it is an onboard device you could also download it from the motherboard manufacturer's website. If it does not work, I am afraid that the device is not compatible with Windows 7 RC.

Here is what I had to do: Go buy a newer network adapter. The drivers for the adapter I was using just didn't work with Windows 7. Then, I had to go through what for me was a long process. I had to reset the configuration under properties in the network connection area, and get rid of any references to a proxy server. Now, it all works. But, get this. Windows 7 can't recognize Direct x-11!! And, it can't recognize an AGP slot with a fairly new generation video card in it. I have the Radeon 3850 and Windows 7 can't see it, even with the newest drivers from the ATI Radeon site. So, on a scale to 7.9 it rates my computer a 1...... Here is a last point I want to make and maybe the moderator will pass this on. Why can't Windows 7 include the thousands of drivers on its install, but put the unused ones in a folder in the setup files that can be accessed by reviewing the instll disk? They don't need to load up all the unused drivers at every boot-up. Just load the currently used drivers. Keep all the others in a permanent folder somewhere. That way, boot-up times will be kept to a minimum. By the way, Windows 7 boots in about half the time that XP does. Good job.
