windows cannot find logon.exe
Everytime I start the the computer I get the "windows cannot find logon.exe" and I cannot connect to the internet. I even bought an external network adaptor because I was told that the internal one had gone bad and it hasnt helped. I have windows xp. 1 person needs an answerI do too

There is no such executable in a standard XP install. Main components of the logon process are winlogon.exe, msgina.dll and logonui.exe. If you quoted this correctly, the I would suspect you have had a malware infection. Run the free scanner from malwarebytes.org. It may be that the malware has already been removed, but hooks which it placed into the startup process have not been reset. It's quite possible that your connectivity problems relate to this. If the issue is with the TCP/IP stack being hijacked, then LSPFix might be able to sort it out. http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
