However, you can also use one of the following methods to eliminate this error message during future backup operations:
Create the missing LocalLow, Contacts, and Searches folders that are listed in the error message.Exclude the folders from the files to back up in the Backup settings, and then include those folders in their original location. To exclude the folders in the additional locations and to include those folders in the original location, follow these steps:
In Control Panel, open Backup and Restore. In the Backup section, click Change settings. In the Set up backup dialog box, click Next.In the What do you want to back up dialog box, click
Let me choose, and then click Next.Expand Data Files, expand <var><your user name></var> Libraries, expand
Additional Locations, and then click to clear the AppData folder,
Contacts, and Searchescheck boxes.Expand Computer, expand the item for your system drive (for example, expand
Local Disk (C:)), expand Users, expand
<var><your user name></var>, and then click to select the
AppData, Contacts, and Searchescheck boxes if they exist.Click Next, and then click Save settings and exit.In Backup and Restore, click Back up now to perform a new backup. The backup operation should complete without errors.

Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) is not install on this laptop but still its fail my backup.
July 20th, 2012 6:12am
Hi ,
I know you have not install Microsoft Security Essentials. The solution provided in that link is to run full scan in MSE and remove the malware found by MSE.
If anything unclear, please feel free to let me know.Tracy Cai

Hi,
0x81000037: Windows Backup failed while trying to read from the shadow copy on one of the volumes being backed up
This issue occurs when you try to back up a specific library or when you accept the default settings in Windows Backup and Restore. Also, this issue occurs if the reparse point is a mounted
volume that contains compressed files (for example, multimedia files, .zip files, and so on).
To work around this problem, remove this reparse point from the library, and then run the backup wizard again. To back up content for this reparse point, select the absolute path of this
location from the Windows Backup configuration user interface.
I suggest perform the steps under the issue 2 workaround to solve the backup error message.

Hi ,
DIR /AL /S
gives you list of "junctions" on the current folder and subfolders. Junctions are a very common kind of reparse point which in fact some kind of shortcut or link that redirects a folder. You can use the information to find the "links" (reparse points) that
cause the issue.
The error you encounter is usually related to "reparse points" pointing to locations that cannot be backed up for some reason (for example the FAT volume or the mounted volume). If you have
these volumes, you need to convert them to NTFS (using convert command), delete mounted volume or not back these files up using Windows Backup.
Please see the following link which details Reparse Points.

hi @Tracy
I already check this webpage for the workaround.
At the Command Prompt I run following command DIR
/AL /S
To get Mounted
Volume all the juncation link I see where the the one which are windows they wasn't anything which user would have defined.
I dont know what could be causing this issues.
I'm just going to take the HD out and attached to another PC and then take a backup.
