my boot logo is the windows 8 boot logo but after upgrading to windows 8.1 it changed to the hp logo. How do i change it back?

If you are using a HP OEM machine then it's normal .The Logo is stored inside the UEFI. You may try to change it with third party applications but better and safe not to use those.

I agree with above suggestion. So we suggest you contact the Microsoft to solve this case, because the only other method is supported by the motherboard manufacturer only. If a manufacturer makes a BIOS tool available, you can remove the picture in the BIOS.
