windows 8.1 trial issues

two problems on my laptop 64 bit which is an ASUS F5. This is an older laptop with only 1MB of RAM

1.  when I put the system into hybernation it will not restart.

2.  when using the desktop, the ALT-TAB does not list all running tasks.  All "modern" apps are missing, and as my favourite app displays documents as either TIF file or a PDF file and both of these are displayed using "modern" apps. I can't easily swap from one to the other.

In my opinion, this version of windows is on track to alienate a large part of the desktop market. through forcing us to use an interface that is as poor as Windows 1.

1GB of RAM is not enough for 64Bit Windows. Try the 32Bit version.

Hi,

Thanks for testing windows 8.1, we would collect all kinds of feedback to make us better, although for a better performance experience, you should following the minimum requirements for system:

Windows 8 system requirements

thanks for the responses.  I am still wondering though why when the operating system works properly on all functions that i have tried, including sleeping. it fails to hibernate.

I am rather disappointed with the insistance on using the 'Modern interface' as the only front-end.  This interface makes my keyboard and mouse computer difficult to drive; rather like driving a car using reins.

the 'modern' interface looks like a first grade reader when used on any large screen.  It simply is not a suitable interface for anything larger than a Pad, whether that system has a touch screen or not.

as for the minimum requirements mentioned. 1GB of RAM is large for any computer.

I believe you are simply shooting at the wrong target.  Anyone can hit a barn door.
