Hi srinivas advala,

We wonder if you did any action before this issue occurred such like update your system, install a new device, driver or any program.

Please try to disable fast startup in Windows 8.1. then check the issue again.

To disable fast starpup in Windows 8.1

Search power buttons in search box, click change what power buttons do

Click on the 'Change settings that are currently unavailable' link to make the Shutdown options available.

Uncheck the Turn on fast startup (enabled) option

We have too few information to resolve your problem. More data on configuration is needed.

There is plenty of reasons that prevent system from shutdowning:

1. Incorrect driver, perhaps chipset.

2. Something happened during the time - optional updates, change of system config,...

3. You have set policy that prevents shutdown when removable media are in drive (DVD, USB,...)

4. There is wrong configuration of power button.

Try to shutdown with command (Run as Administrator):

shutdown -s -f -t 0

Giva us more feedback on error ID in event logs and errors in device manager.

Visit Lnovo support forum and place your problem there. It may be model specific problem.

Hi srinivas

We wonder if there is any luck your issue has been resolved.

This issue usually caused by incorrect driver, especially wireless bluetooth usb device and manufacturer devices like touchpad and card reader. We suggest you install these drivers from Lenovo official website.
