windows 8.1 : Can't find some Registry paths

Hello !

In windows 7 , when I need to completely remove an item from Msconfig-Startup , I have used this registry path :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg

In windows 8.1 it seems that this registry keys is missing.

How can I do in windows 8.1 to completely remove ( !!! not to disable/enable !!! ) items from Task Manager / Startup ?

Thank you !

The Autoruns for Windows v13.2 from Microsoft Sysinternals list most of the Registry locations where things can be started.

Hi dcode25,

The main purpose is to remove the startup option from the start up menu ,right ?

I have checked the registry keys path as you posted and it seems that it has been removed .But I find that the startup option is combined with the following parts:
1.Open a windows explorer and then input "shell:startup".We will get into one of the components called "Startup" folder .
2.
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run   (x64 bit)

Please backup the registry keys before you made modifications to them .
Just as S.Sengupta suggested ,we can use the Autorun tool to have a check ( the Logon tab),we will get more information  with this tool .

Best regards
