windows 7 workstation and network printing
Hi, To deploy on Windows Server 2008 may not resolve the issue, because Windows Server 2008 drivers are compatible with Windows Vista but may not with Windows 7. Try to find universal printer driver. Another suggestion is to make the Windows 2003 Server as a printer server standalone.

I just retired my windows 2003 enterprise server (DC) which was my printer server for my network. I migrated the printers to a newly built 2008 Enterprise server (DC). Migration seem to go well. But when adding a new printer ALL my windows 7 workstation machines bring up a list of printers from the old DC. I went as far as to shutdown the old DC but the windows 7 machines still show a list from the old server and of course it errors out. Devices and printer > add a printer > add anetwork or wireless or blue tooth printer > here is where a get a listing of printers from the old DC, all give the decription of the printer with the old DC name at the end Just to make sure these printer on the new printserver (2008 DC)actually work - I logged into one of my 2003 servers and added a network printer, with windows 2003 server I can actually point to the newly created DC pick the printer load the driver and it works perfectly. How can I get the windows 7 workstation machines to see the newly migrated printers on the 2008 DC? Any help would be appreciated RJM
