windows 7 workgroup question
Windows xp shows 100's of computers in the workgroup but windows 7 only shows 22 on the same network, why is that? Does windows 7 have some kind of limits in workgroup that windows xp does not?

Windows 7 (and Vista) uses a Link-Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) protocol to find "stuff" on the network. Both Windows Vista and 7 have LLTD responders, and can therefore be seen by other Vista/7 clients, however XP does NOT have that responder installed. If you wish to, you can download such a responder and install on all your XP workstations, and they should show up on your Windows 7. It can be downloaded here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc749119%28WS.10%29.aspx
