windows 7 wireless issue
i recently bought a samsung netbook n210 and am having trouble connecting it to the internet via the wireless network, oddly enough when the laptop is place directly next t the router ( a netgear dgn1000 ) it will connect to the network fine but when moved just 1 meter away it will not connect dispite finding the network and saying it has good signal strength. i have already updated the driver for the wireless card through the realtek website and through the samsung website to make sure it is the most up to date as well as running the windows driver update search. when running ipconfig away from the router it says media disconnected?? but when next to the router it does not? not sure why such a short distance is causing a problem? also it will not connect to any wireless hotspots in my area. i am thinking of just sending it back but if i can fix it myself would be much quicker then waiting for warranty to sort the problem out. an added note my windows xp laptop connects to the network fine all through the house as does my friends windows vista?

Have you tried changing in the power option to see if the card is set to use high power on both battery and pluged in. Just a guess

Hi, It may be a hardware issue, as you said, the wireless signal is OK, but your netbook cannot connect it when the distance beyond 1 meter. If it is possible, I suggest you could test it on another wireless environment to confirm if it is really a hardware issue. Hope it helps.
