windows 7 wireless connection problem
I have a new Dell Laptop with Windows7, but it cannot connect to my wireless network at home. My other laptop (Vista) can connect to that network with no problems, and the new laptop with Win7 can connect to other networks, just not that at my home. Any ideas and suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Hi, which wireless network adapter do you use? Are you using the latest driver? Which WLAN router do you have? Are you using WPA/WPA2? André"A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/

Just a thought, did you input the same ssid and passphrase on both the router as well the wireless setting on the laptop?

Make sure Network Discovery is on. Right click on Network , select Properties . Click on Change Advanced Sharing Settings , expand Home or Network and select Turn on Network Discovery . See if that helps.Rich

Hi, Please try the following: 1. Disable the security function of the network or change its type to see if the Windows 7 computer can access the network. 2. Update the wireless NIC driver. 3. Update the router’s firmware Hope this helps. Thanks.Nicholas Li - MSFT
