windows 7 when not connected with network (SBS domain) take too long to logon
Hi All
Windows 7 when not connected with network (SBS domain), I mean when network cable is disconnected, take too long (45 sec) to logon. but if connected with it takes 4 sec.
What windows 7 doing for rest of 40 sec when not connected with network, i think it is waiting for some time out. what should I do to reduce this long delay.

Does the workstation use DHCP to get its IP address and DNS settings, or have they been manually configured? My guess is that you have manually configured it so it is checking each DNS server to timeout. Try setting it to DHCP assigned?Alan Moseley

Hi Alan
Workstation is configured to get IP via DHCP, I think applying correct computer group policy will help
Here's my suggested solution
Windows SBS Client- windows 7 and windows vista policy
Computer configuration > Administrative Templates > System
·
Startup Policy processing wait time
·
Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon
·
Set maximum wait time for the network if a user has a roaming user profile or remote home directory
