Hi, i have 2 win 7 ult. pc's. one is using a vodafone usb 3G modem to connect to the internet. they both have gigabit nics. i tried using a crossover and now a straight cat5 cable, but both lan connection come up as unidentified network. Pc with 3G modem can connect to the net. when you look at network connections it says the following. -(3G pc) vodafone mobile connect/work network/internet access unidentified network/public network/no network access -(other win7 pc) unidentified network/no network access/no internet access. Hi, You can try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue. 1. Temporarily turn off firewall on Windows 7. 2. Upgrade the NIC driver. 3. Restart the computer to Safe Mode with Networking to check the result. Furthermore, does this issue occur when use cable wired to access internet? Fix the problem. i just created a home network on the one and added the other one to the home network. Still can't get them to share the 3G usb modem though.
