Hi, aj_ajinkya. I understand your frustration and disappointment in having to contend with this problem. As I'm sure you realize, it is extremely difficult to diagnose a system's problem(s) over the internet when we can't see what is actually happening. At best, we are probably making a guess, based on our experience, as to what may be causing your system to act the way it does. There are many things, both hardware and/or software that individually, or in combination, could be causing the problem. Some of the software that you mentioned using, to try and solve the problem, is at best 'snake oil' in my opinion. Here is what I would do in your position: If your system is overclocked, set the bios back to the optimal settings. Go to the motherboard manufacturer's site, download and install the latest Bios and chipset drivers. Back up your important data that you can't afford to lose. Completely wipe the drive and reformat it (do not use 'quick format'). Do a clean install of the OS. Install a reputable anti-virus program such as MSE, AVG, etc. Download and install OS updates that are not device drivers. Update your device drivers only with those downloaded from the manufacturer's sites. Install them one at a time and reboot after each. At this point run the system for a few days and see if the problems are still occurring. If they are, note the specific error messages and what you are doing at the time the error occurred. With any luck you will then be able to pinpoint the problem more precisely. If things are running fine, then start installing your software, one program at a time, rebooting after each install, and run the system for a while ensuring no problems are occurring. If the problem starts up again after a particular program is installed, then something within that program is upsetting your system. Sometimes a slow, but methodical approach to solving the problem is necessary. I'm sure once you have resolved the problem(s) you will enjoy using Windows 7. My only other advice at this point is stay away from programs that promise to magically repair your system problems, and if all else fails you might want to consider taking it in to a reputable computer repair shop (not big-box /geek type store) and have them diagnose the system.

I completely agree with OldHobo's comments. Having the error code from those blue screen episodes would have been useful. Be sure to look to the manufacters for Windows 7 drivers as mentioned above, we can't stress that enough. Another good AV program I've used for home use (besides Symantec) is Vipre. I just can't trust myself to free AV stuff ;-)MCSE, MCSA, MCDST

Stop 0x50 is PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA.Cdd.dll is the Windows "Canonical Display Driver".I think it could be your display driver. Try updating it.Otherwise, it would probably be the game software. See if the game has been certified for Windows 7.

Did you download it from NVIDIA? The newest is 195.62.Make sure you get the right one. It should have 64bit in the name of the file. I downloaded one for my GF6500 card on Server 2008 x64 (Vista x64). I would have sworn i clicked on the 64 bit download but the file I got was 32 bit. I went back and got the right one, http://www.nvidia.com/content/DriverDownload-March2009/confirmation.php?url=/Windows/195.62/195.62_desktop_win7_winvista_64bit_english_whql.exe&lang=us&type=GeForce. I notice though that it is still a 32 bit installer. Not good, Nvidia. Also see if you have the latest BIOS and chipset drivers. There is also a eta BIOS you could try.

I just ran the driver install on this Windows 7 x64 machine. Yesterday, I ran it on a Server 2008 (Vista) x64 computer. On both machines, it updated with no problems. On this computer, it didn't even say it had to reboot.Your motherboard has the Gigabyte Q-Flash utility built in. I have used it on my GA MA78GM-S2H to update the BIOS and it was real easy andworked well. See your manual for instructions.I would update the BIOS first to Ver. F9 (12/29/08), if not already there. Then I would update the chipset driver. Then, I would run the Nvidia driver install. If you still have the problem, you could try the beta BIOS, or look for another cause for the problem. 1. From GIGABYTE's website, download the latest compressed BIOS update file that matches your motherboard model. 2. Extract the file and save the new BIOS file (e.g. g31ms2l.f1) to your floppy disk, USB flash drive, or hard drive. Note: The USB flash drive or hard drive must use FAT32/16/12 file system. 3. Restart the system. During the POST, press the <End> key to enter Q-Flash. Note: You can access Q-Flash by either pressing the <End> key during the POST or pressing the <F8> key in BIOS Setup. However, if the BIOS update file is saved to a hard drive in RAID/AHCI mode or a hard drive attached to an independent IDE/SATA controller, use the <End> key during the POST to access Q-Flash.

Hi, Since the BSOD occurs on both Windows Vista and Windows 7, it can be a hardware related problem. Besides the BIOS, please also update chipset and VGA driver from GIGABYTE site as below:http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Motherboard/Driver_Model.aspx?ProductID=2693&ost=windows+7+64bit#anchor_os If the issue persists, to solid troubleshoot this kind of kernel crash issue, we need to debug the crashed system dump and analyze the related source code if needed. Unfortunately, debugging is beyond what we can do in the forum. I'd like to recommend that you contact Microsoft Customer Support Service (CSS) for assistance so that this problem can be resolved efficiently. To obtain the phone numbers for specific technology request please take a look at the web site listed below: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;PHONENUMBERS If you are outside the US please see http://support.microsoft.com for regional support phone numbers. Hope it helps!Vivian Xing - MSFT

I was there buddy, I felt it was all theory & experiment for an entire month of exapirated research into this issue but read on..If your hardware turns out to be fine then the fact is some silly manufacturer incompatibilty is plaguing you. In that case you've landed in my court: It IS system file corruption & this really ought to solve it You'll need no special software , I'll prove it , using a default windows utility I finally Solved , Resolved , & amazingly.. Fixed my windows 7 (64 bit) BSOD blue screen of death issue of a specific phenomenon of the particularly RANDOM system file corruptions ~ i.e. (the ones all over the map) & if you think I'm any different no worries keep reading , because like you I had : diagnosed all my hardware components, clean installed all my (updated) drivers, clean installed a new operating system, updated from windows update (desperately I even tried the (bogus) claims of a registry cleaner or so (FAIL!). Frustration, denial, anger, grief, & finally acceptance/surrender all the same stages of death. From arghh to *sighh. lol The causes were; but were not limited to : dxgmms1.sys , ntoskrnl.exe , nvlddmkm.sys , ETC. ETC. I had dump logs reporting 'em all, ..chronically for about a month. Well all of those corrupted contributors ARE I'm delighted to say, healthy again! It's so simple : All that needs to be done is 1st open up the command window. (you'll be initiating microsofts System File Checker) 2. Then type in: sfc /scannow 3. press enter 4. that's all. It will find all currupt system files & replace them with healthy ones. Even if some can't be fixed (like in my case) It should find/replace all the fatal ones. Also there is a followup command that can show you what exactly couldn't be fixed, I didn't need it & sry I don't know it but it's easy enough to find on the MS forums. Believe me, I'd been ripping my fingernails out rooting out this issue, I'm so relieved. Hope it helps. I should note that all my hardware is diagnosed healthy & configured properly, yours should be too for this to work. Godspeed!
