You need to do a System Recovery not System Restore. Getting to this varies a bit from unit to unit sometimes. Hitting an 'F' key should initiate it & the initial black screen may/should say which 'F' key... might be F11. OR Hopefully, you burnt the Recovery Disc you were told to make when you 1st set the machine up to begin using it. You can use that to rebuild the OS back to Factory. OR With an appropriate OS disc run Repair... in the Repair options are Start Up Repair & System Recovery options, among other things. If you didn't get such a disc w/ the machine, use any correct flavour W7 disc & the (your) key on the sticker on the bottom of your machine. The above is all on the basis of software issues. From what little you have said, it sounds like it could well be hardware related, instead. Hope any of this helps. Bit tough w/out hands on & very little info on which to base answers.Drew MS Partner / MS Beta Tester / Pres. Computer Issues Pres. Computer Issues www.drewsci.com
