Hi Chris, Please let me know the following information. 1. Is it a local hard drive, mapping driver or other types drive? 2. If it is a local hard drive, please check if it is dynamic disk? 3. Can you access the drive? What error is received? I suggest performing a System Restore first. If the issue persist, try disk check. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Check-a-drive-for-errors Best Regards, NikiPlease remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question. hi nina this is not a drive problem. It's a sync problem. we have redirected our "document, picture and favorites" to our home (network) drive H:. I think, per default windows 7 sync (cache) this folder because on this folder you can see a green circular with two arrows. Other Folders (Desktop, Apps etc) has no green circular. Last week we disable offlinefiles with group policies, because there are many problem with synchronize and energymode, standby etc. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\CSC change the data in the registry value Start to 4. now, one use has a problem because he can only access to the "documents, pictures and favorites" if she open drive H:. Other files and folders on network home drive H: (root) are gray and can't use or open. Windows 7 mean this drive is offline and used cached mode, you see only synchronized files, but we are online. He see only one directory (here own) from 100 directories! Windows 7 Offlinefile is disabled - why maybe a bug? Chris

Hi Chris, It is not a bug. I would like to confirm if you created the subkey Parameters under Csc? In the right pane, the value name should be FormatDatabase and value data should be 1. Also make sure that you set correct permissions on the folder and network connection path. Please try the following settings on \\server\users$ folder. Adjust "Limit the number of simulates users to" for the shared files ---------------------- 1. Right-click on the share folder, select Properties, and switch to Sharing tab. 2. Click "Advanced Sharing" and you will see the item "Limit the number of simulates users to". 3. Just adjust the number to see how it works. If the issue persists, remap the shared folder to check the result. Also let me know if all users see one directory from the drive? http://blogs.technet.com/b/filecab/archive/2008/10/07/why-can-t-i-see-all-files-in-a-shared-folder.aspx Best Regards, NikiPlease remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi Niki, thanks for your registry key. I think it's not a sharing or permission problem, because after a reboot it works fine. It only happens when the computer goes in standby or hypernation mode. Best Regards, ChrisChris

Is this key also for windows 7 64bit? after reboot the key was not removed? my registry after reboot [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\NetCache] "OfflineDirRenameDelete"=dword:00000001 "FormatDatabase"=dword:00000001 Chris

Hiya, If Offline files are disabled, it will not delete that registry key as there is no active database for it to format. Once Offline files are re-enabled, it will format the CSC Database and delete the key before log on.
