windows 7 no permission for domain share
i have problems with permissions to a shared folder with windows 7 on domain shares. i use a windows 2008 domain and the shared folder is located on a windows 2003 sp2 fileserver. the user is a member of the domain admin group. the group and the user have all rights on the folder. the user only get the permissions that i give to the group. if the domain admin group have only read and the user have full permissions, then the user get only read permissions (but in the ntfs-permission i can see that the user has full permissions). when i delete the group permissions and the user has full permissions on the folder (i can see it in the ntfs-permissions for the folder), the user can´t acces the folder. when i log on a windows xp sp3 machine, then the user has full permissions.i change the LAN Manager authentication level - but it doesn´t resolve the problem.

Hi, To make this issue clear, please collect and the DACLs on the problematic folder from the Windows 2003 Server with the tool ICACLS.EXE: The Icacls.exe utility is available for Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 2 For example, You can export the DACLs on those folder from the server with the following command: icacls C:\folder\file.txt /save AclFile /T This will save the ACLs for the folder under c:\folder to AclFile. Meanwhile, I would like to share the following with you for your reference: Icacls For your convenience, I have created a workspace for you. You can upload the result via the following link. (Please choose "Send Files to Microsoft") https://sftasia.one.microsoft.com/choosetransfer.aspx?key=a4fbd1e7-d13f-4cc5-92ad-040b008ad7e5 Password is “4e@y{B[mbFah” (without quotations). i have uploaded the files.when i work with the user account XYZ (not the dom-admin account or any othe administrator account) and i open a file on the fileserver, then i can see with the command openfiles that the user ADMINISTRATOR is opening the files and not the USER XYZ!!. i think that´s the problem and not the permissions on the folder? what can i do?

Hi, Thank you for your update. I have also tested this with your description and the issue didn’t occur. You can also create a new folder and a new user account to have a test and see how it works. At this time, please also collect the following information and send to us: Please run the following command to collect the output for the icacls command: For example, icacls C:\folder\file.txt /T >> d:\acl.txt After running toe command just send the acl.exe file with the workspace. Thanks again for your efforts.Nicholas Li - MSFT
