windows 7 network issue with hamachi
Hi there Just noticed when settting home network ( 2 pc under win 7 32 bits and 2 under vista 32with plugin netgears through netgear routeur 624 ) that running hamachi 1.0.5 disable network sharing folders in home group .Otherwise, home group with password works fine and I can access files from any comp at home only if network with hamachi is disable.I read win 7 wasonly able to run one home group but my wish is to run hamachi on the network while still being able to share files and folders without disable other networks ! ipv6 is enable .Thanks for advice

Hi, We can use troubleshooting tool in Windows 7 to determine the root cause. When the issue occurs please: 1. Open Control Panel\Troubleshooting. 2. Click View all in the left pane.3. Click on HomeGroup. Click Next to run the tool.4. Skip the step "Troubleshooting network problems".5. When it complete, click "View detailed information".6. In the detailed information, press Ctrl+A, and Ctrl+C to copy all the content. Then paste the content in your post. The tool will help us to check whether necessary services are enabled. Also please enter the following command in command prompt. ipconfig/all > %userprofile%\desktop\ipconfig.txt On Desktop, please open the file ipconfig.txt, copy the content in your post.Arthur Xie - MSFT

Thanks Arthur but I solved my pb .Just enable ip from pc through my firewall and allow windows to share folders . Weird as I didn't have to specify ip adress of other pc on network under vista, but everything is ok now since I put hamachi network on public network . Regards

Windows 7 has an issue with Hamachi. If you un-install and then install it, that fixes the problem.

Thx for advice David I was wondering how hamachi must be set to let homegroup work correctly ? ( should I set hamachi as public network or homegroup ? ) still have some issues when hamachi runs .some of my pc don't see others .Everything is fine when disabling hamachi adapter ! Weird thing .

I also am having the same issue. I can access all my shares when the hamachi adapter is disabled. When I enable the hamachi adapter, I am no longer able to ping the IP of my workstation or access my shares. Any ideas anyone? I already tried the following:1) set hamachias public network2) set hamachi as home network3) set hamachi as work network4) re-installed hamachi5) deleted homegroup6) tried bridging physical NIC to hamachi adapterNone of the above worked.Does anyone have success with shares working properly in Windows 7 after the Hamachi adapter is enabled?Dragon_heart, can you please provide more detail on how you got this to work? Thanks

Hi PsychoMike Yes it is such a pain to make all networks functionnal at the same time ! I recently experienced issues with them cos I now use a vpn too lol So what I did is : - hamachi 1.03 is set as a public network for all pc's - Disable useless network adapters if necessary ( I disable my vpn's one when using hamachi and homegroup ) - mymain network adapter ( for homegroup ) is set as primary in share center > advanced settings for adapters , and hamachi one secondary . I disabled ipv6 for hamachi settings . http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/7125/snap1l.png- My AV is mcafee total security 2009 so I allowed all my pc's through firewall settings (add all local ip machines as trusted networks - My network has 4 comps )- disconnect all homegroups then create another with the password- share what U want ( I allowed both homegroup users and specific users for directories I share ) - I checked 128 encryption and let windows manage connexions in homegroup settings I you have an AV/FW I recommend you testing sharing by deactivating it .It seems most of common network issues under win 7 occurs when several adapters are present . So experience by disabling most of them and testing one by one . edit : I just boot today and finally no need to disable my vpn adapter ( notice I m' not using win 7 for connecting it ) look this screenshot , homegroup works with hamachi running . http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/6646/snap2.pnghttp://img697.imageshack.us/img697/9437/snap3h.pnghttp://img268.imageshack.us/img268/1638/snap4e.pngGood luck !
