windows 7 lost internet connection
I have a Lenovo PC using Windows 7 with a NETGEAR WPN111 wireless adapter. It's been working mostly fine for the past 6 months until today when it stopped connecting to the internet. It appears to get to my router, but won't create an internet connection. If I try to use the troubleshoot, it blames the modem and tells me to reset it, which I did, and that did not help. I also upgraded the firmware on my router, and that didn't help. I've powered everything down and up in about all imaginable combinations, and it just never reconnects. I tried switching to my other netgear adapter that I have on a mostly unused pc, and that didn't work. All other devices (other than that unused PC, didn't check it and now the kids are asleep in that room) are connecting, they all work, so I don't think there's anything wrong with my internet connection or modem. Computer is also running McAfee, I'm fearing that has gotten in and broken something, it has a tendency to run wild at times, sucking up 100% CPU, which it was doing at my last connection. I restarted the PC then, which is what I usually do when that's bogging me down for no apparent reason, and when it came back, the internet connection was dead. I would connect with a wire to see if that works, but it's too far for the wire I have, and I'm not pulling everything apart to move the PC to the router tonight. I'm at a loss, I've tried all the tricks I know to get this thing to work, and nothing is working, so any suggestions, things to look for, etc, are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you much, internet came back while McAfee was uninstalling, and stayed up after being re-installed.
