windows 7 home premium keeps changing to dynamic IP during update
I have 2 windows 7 PC's & a windows 7 laptop on my home network along with 4 xbox 360's. Because of the port forwarding on the 360's I have to have static IP's. Every time I get a update on the windows 7 devices it changes the static IP's back to dynamic.
Is there any way to stop that from happening ?

have you checked if the DHCP service is disabled?
if not open services.msc and change it.

When you say update you mean to say Windows update or GPO update?

Hi,
Windows 7 should not change the setting if you already set up a static IP address unless the driver of the network adapter is uninstalled.
So I assume this is caused by the other network based software. You may boot the computer in Clean Boot to determine whether the 3rd party software cause this.
