windows 7 has permission issues with files/folders imported by windows migrtation tool.
New clean install of w7 pro64. Used Windows migration tool to bring over personal and saved data files and folders from xp pro system. I am having permission issues with some folders. I can not fix these by manually tweaking the permissions on the copied folders. I am ready to throw w7 under the bus and go back to xp. How can windows screw up files that I owned before and after migration.

Hi, Which migration tool did you use? Please use Windows Easy Transfer to transfer your files, email, pictures or settings. More detail please refer: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/features/windows-easy-transfer Furthermore, did these folders encrypted? You can try to disable EFS on Windows XP. http://www.petri.co.il/disable_efs_in_windows_xp_2003.htm Please Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice.
