windows 7 explorer slow copy to samba share over 1000 connection, winscp works fine.
I have a dual homed system. NIC1 is a Intel Pro 1000 connecting at 1000 in a private IP range (10.x.x.x). NIC2 is a 100 Nvidia connecting at 100 on a public IP range. Server is connected via a 1000 NIC with both public and private IPs. These are the results I have from testing NIC1 (private) explorer file copy -> 100KB/s (was ~15MB/s) NIC2 (public) explorer file copy -> 12.5 MB/s NIC1 (private) winscp file copy -> 11 MB/s NIC2 (public) winscp file copy -> 5 MB/s Other computers (linux) copy files at normal speeds. Updated and rebooted both PCs several times. I'm at a loss as to what caused this. I first noticed this yesterday, my PC updated and rebooted a few days ago, about the same time I also updated my AGN VPN dialer for work. This happens regardless of if the VPN dialer running, so I'm inclined to not look at it as a cause. I'm open to suggestions and happy to answer any other config questions that might come up. I've never seen degraded performance like this with just one program. Update - Testing pulling from the server is wonderful speed, pushing is still slow with no indication as to why. Update 2 - replaced NIC and cable. No improvement. Tested r/w from another win7 PC to the samba share and it's performance is normal. I think it's time to wipe the drive and reinstall.
