windows 7 explorer bug?
explorer crash after trying to access application data for teh current user started with c:\users\eca\local application data rejected ok, tried local aplications data rejected ok tried Application Data I got the message as expected=======================Location is not available ============== c:\users\eca\application data is not accessible access is denied ==================== OK-------------------------------------However, somehow it started searching the fodler before I started in typing in teh addresss bar while the message is in the forground.Both the pop up meesage and the explorer does not respond. no crash indcation, no other dialog visiblea screen shot can be found in : https://cid-431dca6620758248.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/ms%20social%20forumthe color is off because I did not want to spend time to uplod a large true color bmp.if one is in front of the W7, one could see flashing green in the address bar with lighter color going from left to right repeatedly.attempt to click the OK button on the message and the X on explorer are ignoredoh the busy cusor appears whenever I mode the mose over the explorer or the pop up messge

more info. this happens only if more than one explorer opens, and if one types in a few erroneous address like above before and c:\user\eca\applications data, then c:\user\eca\application dataThe eca account is new. just imported office setting.so unlikely it is the user account profile problem

fs - Hmm. I don't see any sort of "application data" folder. I do, however, see a C:\Users\****\AppData folder. Kinda wondering where that "application data" folder came from... Was this an upgrade from previous version of Windows like XP?

no such folder as ....appdata in this W7 Ultimate 32 bit RC1 Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7100]installed from scratchthere is ...application data which is not directly accessible but it's subfolders arewhat is your version of w7?software configuration: IE8, adobe reader. ms sbs office 2003.everything updated to latest releasedid import office setting into this particular IDit looks like application data is linked folder redirecting to somewhere elsewhereas appdata has local, low.. roaming...

fs - I've got a cleanly installed RC build 7100 here. US English version. Gotta wonder if that's one of those "redirector" folders - a hard link that redirects stuff elsewhere - like the old "C:\Documents and Settings\..." link that redirects to C:\Users\...

could be redirector folderhowever we have wandered off topic.nI would like to know if someone else expereience similar non responsive windows explorer with w7 ulitmate 32 bit when one types in several invalid file address when there more than one windows explorer windows open?when this happened one have to resort to kill the task for the windows exploreris this a know bug or I am the only who encounter this bug
