windows 7 enterprise installation problem
Hi, I've installed windows 7 enterprise on my HP dv6-7099el notebook and activated it. The HDD was set in Dynamic mode for previous management of multiple partitions. I've decided to change Dynamic into Basic mode using Mini Partition Tool. Firstly, after changing mode, the existent win 7 couldn't load anymore. So I've deleted all the partition, wiped the entire HDD and tried to reinstall the same Windows 7 Enterprise. Everything went well but after the system restarts, during the "Setup is starting Services" screen, it gives me a message box error saying "Windows could not finish configuring the system. To attempt resume configuration, restart the computer" and once I press ok it jsut restarts and gives the same error again. I've tried to follow Jeff Harrison answer (see http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/w7itproinstall/thread/f7e1a2ce-f797-4e34-ae47-529926186275) and I obtained setup.etl file. I've tried 3 times doing the same installation but always with the same problem. After this, I've installed Windows 7 Professional and everything went well (I'm using it right now). I've tried to re-install Windows 7 Enterprise as a Virtual Machine in Windows 7 Pro and everything works great. Do you have any suggestion for the problem I have with Win7 Enterprise? It seems localized to the OS and not to the machine. Isn't it? Thanks

Hi, Firstly, based on my research, Im afraid that these event logs may not help to determine the issue. Instead, it is recommended to check setupact.log and setuperr.log in C:\Windows\Panther\ and C:\Windows\Panther\UnattendGC. Hope this helps. Jeremy Wu TechNet Community Support

Solved! I've tried with a new fresh installation using a SP1 version of Windows 7 Enterprise (instead of a non-SP1 version) and everything went well! Thank you all!
