Is the installed gadget compatible with Windows 7? If not, you need to uninstall it to resolve this issue.Arthur Xie - MSFT

I have a similar problem. Not with a particular gadget, but that the sidebar on my 32-bit desktop is taking 50%+ of the CPU power! When I shut it off, all is ok. I also can not right-click on the desktop and open the gadget tray or open it from the list of programs. Should I just uninstall or somehow reinstall/repair the sidebar functions? Thanks

Gadgets on Windows 7 dissappeared. Unable to start Gadgets from desktop or start menu. Went to Microsoft on-line gadget gallery. Downloaded one new gadget and installed directly. Gadget gallery displayed at end of inslallation. Able to re-install missing gadgets from gallery. All four (clock, calendar, weather, stock market) are working okay. Still unable to access gadget gallery from start menu or right click on desktop. Manually stopping then running sidebar does not work either.
