ajcollins - Simple answer: the E version for Windows 7 ships without IE8. You have to install it from another source.The N version ships without Windows Media Player. Not sure if there's a way to regain that at a later date. No one was happy with the N version of XP and presumably Vista. No one wanted it. Not even those who complained to the EC in the first place. The problem, you see, is that Microsoft pulled ALL of WMP out of Windows. If you wanted to install say, Real Player, it wouldn't work mainly because Real Player hooks itself into WMP components. The N version is by European Commission decree. The E version is a preemptive strike at the EC to keep them from levying yet another huge fine.

ajcollins - A quick clarification...The N version of Windows 7 will have neither Windows Media Player NOR IE 8.
