windows 7 64 bit not reading sd cards
okay, please try and follow.......... sometimes when i insert my sd card into the slot and go to "my computer" (windows 7 64 bit) it reads the drive, in this case E, but not the card so i take the sd card out, right click the drive and click "eject" i get a pop up saying the card is in use, but there's no card inserted, so i click " continue" then i insert the sd card and it pops up fine this doesn't happen all the time, just now and then does that sound like hardware or software issues? my friend says software, he says windows 7 is reading the card as occupied when its not and clicking eject resets it i always click eject first and i know they are good cards as they work fine on my other computers i have returned two other new computers to the store thinking it was a hardware but now i am convinced it has to be a windows 7 64 bug i have a dell xps 8300 btw

You should try inserting other SD cards and see if your PC reads them. I also suggest you to contact Dell Support and ask for assistance: it could be a hardware issue and Dell must provide support for this kind of problem, since the SD card reader is embedded in the PC.
