i did a system repair which could not repair my system,system file integrity check failed error code =0x490.can any one please help me,i dont really know alot about computers kind regards jill .

hi Jill,would be a help if you could provide some information or specs about the computer in question. also, is this a retail version of Windows 7, an evaluation copy, or beta do you know, was it downloaded or do you have an original MS disk?~Aj

Hi Littlestarr, This issue is cauased by system files corrupted, you can try to restore the computer toa earily backup point to troubleshoot this issue.If the issue still persists, it is recommended to do a in-place upgrade to resolve this issue. Hope it helps.

Hope it helps. what is an in-place upgrade i only ask because i to am having the same sort of problems but my mouse freezes then the computer does as well then have to restart it goes to repair and i get code 0x490 and others too norton error 3047,553 3039,1 and also is main prosessor over clocked and timed out ? secondery prosessor failure stopped working ? blue screen loads and loads of numbers and letters i am on windows 7 32 bit premium and 8 gig memory 1tb hd 2 light scribes (sony)asus m2n i bought this full suite in replace of windows vista 64 bit premium and they are both as bad as each other and every where i seem to look on the net (cnet and so forth) they want paying for it is there anywhere on windows that i can get a fix from

In place upgrade: If you have your windows 7 dvd just pop it in the dvd drive and when the window says "install windows now" select it. When it says you can do an upgrade or a fresh clean install select upgrade.
