windows7 or IE glitch
I recently purchased a gateway desktop with windows 7 home premium 64 bit. When I use IE32 bit explorer this happens - when I close IE down the mouse does not function on the desktop so I can't open a new program. I can open a program by going to the start button but this does not enable the mouse to work on the desktop. I have to restart and then the same thing happens again. So I switched to IE 64 bit and this solved the problem however not all web pages can display images with 64 bit and adobe flashplayer does not have a 64 bit download at present. ( a little x appears where the image should.) Next I switched to Mozilla Firefox Browser and this solved the problem. I maintain my own web page with Frontpage 2002 and the same thing is happening as with the 32 bit IE when I am editing and go to the preview tab. The blue circle starts revolving , shuts down Fpage and the mouse becomes inactive. Any feedback will be appreciated

This issue can be caused by incompatible IE add-ons. I suggest you remove third party toolbars from 32bit IE. If the issue still occurs, please reset IE settings. How to reset Internet Explorer settings http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737 please click the Start Button, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). If the issue does not reoccur, it may be caused by an IE Add-on. In that case, let’s continue to perform the following steps to narrow down the cause. Check Internet Explorer Add-Ons ========================= 1. Click Tools, and then click Internet Options. 2. Click the "Programs" tab, and then click Manage Add-ons. 3. Select an add-on in the Name list, and then click Disable. 4. Restart IE with Add-ons and check the issue again. If the issue is resolved, the disabled Add-on was the cause of the issue. If the issue reoccurs, continue to disable the next Add-on using the same method. By doing so, we could determine which Add-on contributed to the issue. However if the issue persists in No Add-ons Mode, I suggest you download Process Explorer. Process Explorer v12.04 Find all loaded *.dll files by IE, pick up non-Microsoft *.dll and rename them one by one. We can find which file causes this issue with this method. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Thanks for your answer. With the help of my Computer Technician he was able to solve the problem by making Firefox Mozilla my default Browser. So far this seems to have solved the problem (I'm keeping my fingers crossed). I will keep your reply in case the problem reoccurs. Thanks again - greatly appreciated.
