This is easy to fix. In Windows 7, click Start. Right click Computer and select Manage. In the Computer Management window, select Disk Management. In Disk Management, right click the drive where Vista in installed. Select Change Drive Letter and Paths. Click the Add Button. Select Assign the following drive letter. Use the drop down list to select a drive letter that is not in use. (Recommend selecting Z) Click OK and exit Computer Management.Open Windows Explorer and you should see the Vista installation under Drive Z.Let us know the results.Thank You for testing Windows 7 Beta Ronnie Vernon MVP

Lordagosto, there are quite a few webpages that are causing me problems too unless I use compatibility mode. Google mail is one and so is Google analytics. Unless I open Google analytics in compatibility mode IE 8.0 simply crashes and then starts a start/shutdown loop.I agree that IE 8.0 still needs more work but we will simply have to be patient.John Barnett MVP: Windows XP Associate Expert: Windows Desktop Experience: Web: http://www.winuser.co.uk Web: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org Web: http://vistasupport.mvps.org

Patient we will be, John. But with the RC just around the corner, the bad advertising from IE8 could bring 7,s popukarity gah down a peg or two. I would suggest they should plant IE7 in the RC, as default, with 8 as an option, as is the 64 Bit IE8 at the moment.

IE8 will certainly be in the final version of Windows 7 and we need to find and report all of the bugs between now and the end of this beta.Installing a previous version like IE7 would be redundant and it would give inaccurate results in all of the testing scenarios. In Windows 7 RC, we should be getting the latest version of the IE8 RC. We'll have to see how this version works with Windows 7.Regards,Thank You for testing Windows 7 Beta Ronnie Vernon MVP

Why is it so and how can I ?Hi AnwaarOnce you assign a drive letter to a system volume it cannot be changed. This has always been true and is just a rule to protect the volume where the operating system is installed. In a dual boot system, it also protects the drive where the Boot Loader is installed. The letter that you assigned to XP in Windows 7 will only be visible when you are running Windows 7 and will not effect the drive letter that is shown when you boot to XP. The operating system that you are running will always be shown as the C: drive. What you really need to do is assign drive labels to each one of the drives. This will make it clear which drive you are looking at and you can simply ignore the drive letter. Boot into Windows 7. Open Windows Explorer. Right click the C: drive and select Properties. In the Label box, type a distinctive name, such as Windows7. (See image below) Click Apply/OK.Now, perform the same steps to label the XP drive and the other drives that are on the computer.Hope this helps.Thank You for testing Windows 7 Beta Ronnie Vernon MVP
