window7 update install stalled at 7 of 8
On Aug. 27,2012 I shut down and Windows 7 and it began installing new updates automatically, at 7 of 8 it froze up and has been that way for 12 hours. What can I do?
If I turn off the computer I might have problems with the system when I restart it.
Im running Windows7 Pro 64 bit.

Powering off the computer is really your only option. It has never caused any problems when I have had to do it in the past.

Hi,
Please reboot your computer and see how it works.
If it fails, please enter
System Recovery Options and perform a system restore.
