win 7 ultimate or win7 pro which one is good for developers

I think unless you are developing something that will specifically make use of components only found in the Ultimate edition, to test, than Professional would be your best bet. And save a few dollars in the process. See below for a link to the differences between versions. On the contrary, if you feel you need to protect your work, than BitLocker might be an option for you. This is only available in the Ultimate version.
