win 7 error 53 - Network path not found - connecting to win 2003 server shared folders
I need to use some shared folders by a win 2003 server to 15 PC in lab. I have many users codified as: 5xyz01, 5xyz02 ... 5xyz15, 5qwu01, 5qwu02 ... 5qwu15 et cetera defined at server level which corresponds to class/student (i.e. 5xyz01=> class=5xyz, student=01). Every user has full control on a folder. This configuration worked well for two years with 15 XP professional installations. Now we sobstituted many (11) old PCs with new ones and we adopt win 7 professional for new PCs. Some PCs are win XP professional (4 PC) and some other (11) are the new ones with win 7 professional installed. All 15 PCs can ping the server and all can browse Internet using the server as gateway. The problem is on connetting to shared folders. Connecting the XP PCs (already used last year) isn't a problem. In the win 7 PC there are strange behauvioir: some connects with no problems, some other doesn't connect at all. The way is: Computer -> Connect network drive ... (Computer -> Connetti unità di rete... in italian) - I put the IP address as machine plus the shared folder name: \\192.168.2.120\www5xyz01 - Connect as other user ("connetti con credenziali diverse" in italian) and input user: 5xyz01 and it work fine in 6 PCs (with win 7) but doesn't work at all in other 4 PCs (with the same win 7). I tried also with cmd line command: NET USE * \\192.168.2.120\www5xyz01 * /user:5xyz01 Insert the required password: . . . Again it works fine on the "good" 6 PCs but doesn't work in the "bad 4" and a message error appears: ERROR 53 Network path not found. The win 7 PCs are the same type, purchased together, with the same win 7 professional installed. All 15 PCs can ping the server and all can browse Internet using the server as gateway. I tried to disable antivirus (VShield) disable firewall, update windows... Nothing resolves. I don't know what to do. Please help me. Thank you for your suggestions.
